Welcome! We are the Bionic Intelligent Robot (BIR) Lab at the School of Automation Science and Engineering, South China University of Technology.

Our work covers the aspects of intelligent robot research, ranging from core control tasks to key downstream applications, and new machine learning methods.

Leading by Prof. Zhijun Zhang, the BIR Lab includes over 50 graduate students and undergraduate research assistants pursuing research on fundamental advances in robotic manipulation, as well as cross-cutting themes including human-compatible systems, neural networks, EEG/EOG signal processing, and connecting robots with other scientific disciplines and the humanities.
